During the last five years I focused my creative efforts on feature film and long format work. Among many projects during this time, in 2003, I designed the film JUSTICE, shot in and around the Twin Cities, directed by JOHN SCHULMAN and JEANE MARIE ALMONOR. In 2004 I was the Minnesota Art Director of NIKI CARRO’S NORTH COUNTRY and in 2005, I had the gift of Art Directing the final film by ROBERT ALTMAN, A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION. Last summer I designed the film NOBODY, directed by ROB PEREZ, and have just finished working as AAD on the COEN BROS. latest show, A SERIOUS MAN.
After 1200 commercials and 20 years in the film industry, my true passion is still in designing films. There is no greater thrill than to read a script and then make it all become real. The researching and learning, the sifting through location after location looking for the right fit, augmenting them as needed and of course drawing up the settings the that exist nowhere else but in the mind. It is all simply magical.
